La Joya ISD is taking a bold step in shaping the future of district leadership with the launch of the Rising Leaders Leadership Development Program. This new initiative is designed to recognize and develop outstanding leadership talent, showcasing the district’s commitment to nurturing internal growth and empowering top-tier employees to further contribute to the district’s ongoing success.
The Rising Leaders Program is a selective, prestigious opportunity, with participants chosen based on nominations from their department leaders. These individuals have demonstrated excellence, leadership, and a strong dedication to driving positive results for LJISD. By joining the program, these leaders will enhance their skills and leadership abilities, preparing them to take on even greater roles within the district.
Superintendent Dr. Marcey Sorensen shared the district’s vision for the program: “We are deeply committed to growing our own talent. The Rising Leaders program celebrates those who have already made a remarkable impact in our district and provides them with a unique opportunity to further refine their leadership skills and expand their influence.”
Running from October 2024 to March 2025, the Rising Leaders Program will provide advanced leadership training through interactive sessions tailored to the participants’ current and future roles. The program’s core focus areas will include strategic leadership, team management, and fostering a culture of service. Participants will also have the opportunity to collaborate with other leaders across La Joya ISD, sharing best practices and gaining valuable insights to continue driving success.
Jaime Miller, Chief of Talent Development and Human Capital, emphasized the importance of the program: “This program is designed to build on the exceptional leadership qualities our participants already possess. It’s about recognizing the impact they’ve already had and preparing them to take on even greater leadership roles.”
